Katie & Gene
Katie and I first met over the phone while she and her fiance Gene were living abroad. Both in the Navy, they were stationed in Italy (tough assignment) where they met and fell in love. Their Florida wedding was set for January and I was lucky enough to be asked to photograph it.
Their ceremony was shared by close family and friends at St. Hugh Catholic Church in Coconut Grove.
While guests enjoyed cocktails at the reception, George and I explored Bill Biggs State Park with the bride and groom. It was a gorgeous windy day and The Cape Florida Lighthouse looked stunning amidst blue skies.
Dinner and dancing at the Rusty Pelican awaited them after our beautiful walk in the park. Tables were decorated with blue linens and orchids.
Nosy spectators while we photographed the last of the daylight…
I just love watching the sunset from those bay windows while the bride and groom share their first dance as husband and wife.
My favorite–the father and daughter dance…
Guests were asked to sign a photo matt while enjoying wedding photos of the bride & groom’s parents.
Finally, no wedding blog entry would be complete without silly dancing pictures. I love my job!
Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
The bride’s makeup was done by Pilar Fernandez of Best Miami Makeup and her hair by Dina Acle.
